In May of 2019, I graduated from Carl Sandburg High School with a class rank in the Top 5%. In the fall of 2019, I will be attending University of Southern California on a pre-dental track.
Experience
In high school, I was enrolled in honors and AP courses for all four years: in total, I took 10 AP classes, including AP Language & Comp and AP Literature & Comp. Furthermore, I was an English tutor at my high school for two years, so I have experience with interacting with and accommodating to different students and their needs. As for writing, writing is a hobby that I enjoy and that I have been working on for a long time: for the past five years, I have entered and placed in various writing competitions and earned scholarship prizes for my work. Along with these competitions, I published a book (anthology) in 2017. My ACT composite is a 35, with an English score of 36 and a Reading score of 35. Hobbies
I am a good balance of work and play: I place my academics and responsibilities as my top priorities, but I also allow myself time to be active and socialize. A few activities that I enjoy doing are: exploring new restaurants/cafes in the city, discovering and listening to music, and being in the presence of good food and friends! As for hobbies, any activity that stimulates my creativity are activities that I enjoy! Instruments have been a large part of my life: I have been playing the harp for the past ten years, the piano for eight years, and I am re-learning the guitar after a few year hiatus. In addition, I love writing, and I have been writing for five years. My favorite genres of writing are free-verse poetry and prose fiction.
